Volunteer

Help others enjoy our sport

Why Volunteer?

Skelmersdale Boundary Harriers membership isn't just for athletes, our club can't run without a huge amount of volunteers working behind the scenes.  From making the tea at events through running the social media or coaching the athletes to officiating at events, the volunteering opportunities are endless and can provide you with some valuable skills and experience along the way, as well as contributing to the continued success of the club.

What are the benefits?

The benefits of volunteering have been documented to exhaustion but at we believe that the emphasis should be on the fact that volunteering is a great deal of fun!  Not only do you get to increase your social circle hugely, but you have the opportunity to develop skills that will give you a talking point for decades.

If you're interested in volunteering with us, please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Membership secretary.  For information on becoming an Official, more information is available here.  For information on the route to becoming a coach or group leader, more information is available here.

What can I do?

There's several roles for volunteers in Skelmersdale Boundary Harriers, depending on how much time you have to give and what your interests are.  For those who can only dedicate a few hours a year, there are opportunities to act as marshals at our races or helpers at community events.  For those with more time to commit, you can train as a coach or run leader, or volunteer to help organise our events.  Below is a list of just some of the opportunities for volunteering, currently multiple roles are covered by one or two people so your assistance will always be of great value.
