Joining Our Club

Welcome to Skelmersdale Boundary Harriers! Whether you’re aiming for your first 5k, training for a marathon, exploring off-road trails, gearing up for cross-country season, or simply looking for a friendly local running group, we’d love to have you in the SBH family.

Your first two training sessions are free, so come along, meet the team, and try us out before deciding to join!

Why Become a Full Competitive Member?

While we offer various options, becoming an Affiliated Competitive Member unlocks the full Skelmersdale Boundary Harriers experience. For just £35.00/year (which includes your £25 England Athletics affiliation fee), you get:

  • Official EA Registration: Full membership with England Athletics and an official runner profile.

  • Cross-Country League Entry: Represent SBH in local cross-country league fixtures and regional championship races throughout the autumn and winter seasons.

  • Club Race Competitions: Full eligibility to score points and compete in our exclusive Grand Prix series and the Parkrun Knockout Challenge.

  • London Marathon Ballot Entry: Access to our exclusive club ballot entry if you applied for the official London Marathon ballot and received a rejection (subject to club qualification rules).

  • Race Entry Discounts: £2+ off standard entry fees for hundreds of licensed road, trail, and cross-country races across the UK.

  • Represent the Club: Wear the iconic SBH black and amber vest at official local, regional, and national races.

  • Club Governance: Full voting rights at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) to help shape the future of our club.

Membership Types (2026/27)

  • Competitive First Claim Member: £35.00 (Includes £20 EA Affiliation)

  • Junior Member (Competition Only): £30.00 (Includes £20 EA Affiliation)

  • Second Claim Member: £15.00 (For runners affiliated with another primary club)

  • Retired / Unwaged / Student: £30.00

  • Social Member: £15.00 (Non-competitive membership)

Simple 3-Step Sign Up

  1. Submit Application: Fill out our Online Joining Form.

  2. Pay Your Fee: Once processed, you will receive a direct payment link from England Athletics to pay your membership fee securely.

  3. Get Your Kit: Pop over to our Club Shops page to grab your race vest and training gear!

Weekly Training & Weekly Subs

We meet every Thursday evening at 6:45 PM (excluding Christmas).

Session Subscriptions ("Subs")

To support weekly club operational costs, we ask for a small £1 weekly subscription per training session. You can pay cash on the night, or set up a bank transfer/standing order:

  • Individual Session: £1.00

  • Monthly Option: £4.00 (4 weeks)

  • Annual Option: £44.00 (44 weeks)
